Explain how flooding can impact on people (4)
*
Answer
In Bangladesh, flooding killed cattle leaving decaying carcasses in
the water. As a result diseases spread via the flood water, which
people drank. This led to people contracting typhoid and dysentery,
which killed them. In 1991, Bangladesh only had one flood shelter.
Therefore many people could not get to safety. As a result hundreds
of thousands of people drowned.
